The American Sign Language Phrasebook on CD-ROM

Based on the popular book and video tapes, this CD-ROM contains over 200 sentences and phrases signed by native signers. The phrasebook presents the content alphabetically, by lesson category, and through a search engine. In addition, lesson and learning activities allow users to hone their receptive and productive skills.

2. Lessons. The Lessons feature allows you to follow the printed text through all of the phrases in a particular lesson--with or without English translations.

3. Receptive Practice.. Two different activities help you practice your sign language receptive skills. One activity presents two similar video clips and asks you to match one of them to a particular English phrase. Another displays a single video clip and asks you to choose the correct translation from a group of similar meanings.

4. Productive Practice. This activity elicits signs and phrases from a specific lesson, then allows you to check your knowledge.
